Permission to boast...

Hey Verbalizer,

Last week, I was running a public speaking session for a group of young girls.

I asked them to introduce themselves and to share something they are proud of.

One of them has just passed her Grade 5 piano exams! 🎹🎉

Another one scored 40 out of 40 in her arithmetic test! ➕🎉

Another one recently passed the first round of tests for a school she applied to! 🏫🎉

And yet another was feeling proud of the work she did in a building project 👷‍♀️🎉

Each of them shared it initially with a sense of discomfort…

It felt like bragging and they didn’t want to show up like that.

I told them I was giving them permission to repeat those accomplishments in a boasty (is that a word 😂) way!

Oh my! The transformations were epic 🤩!

Their response to that was that it was actually fun and easier than they thought.

We did it a final time with their more authentic style.

But with permission to stand that bit taller, speak that bit louder, and with a genuine ownership of the joy of their accomplishments.

It was beautiful to witness.

And it reminded me of this quote…

As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same’ - Marianne Williamson.

And that’s exactly what happened in the room as they gave themselves permission to shine!

To own!
To boast ☺️

Let these young girls inspire you!

Love, Laughter & Light,

‘Ronke

P.S: How do you feel about truly OWNING your strengths, gifts, accomplishments, etc and celebrating them unapologetically and JOYfully? 🤩🎉🤩🎉🤩

I read every response and would love to hear from you Verbalizer!
