You Only Have One Life...

Here's how to make the most of it.

“Why aren't we all running like we're on fire towards our wildest dreams?” - Unknown

I have never seen anyone run so fast for a train.

A section of Victoria station appeared to almost slow down as we witnessed this young man sprint with all his might to catch that train!

You could almost feel the heartbreak that flowed across the platform as we watched that train begin to move just before he made it.

It was painful to watch him throw his belongings on the ground in despair and be comforted by an older man who I assumed was his father.

They missed the train.

I don’t know what the impact was of missing that train but my goodness,

There was no doubt that he gave it his all!

And sometimes that’s all we can do but at least we can be rest assured that we went for it instead of making excuses.

Thankfully another train will always come along.

That young man’s hunger inspired me though.

It made me question how willing I am to pursue my dreams.

That obviously means different things for different people.

It’s not about becoming a hyper achiever,

But about being willing to stretch out of that comfort zone.

It’s that run-with-all-my-might energy to catch the train feeling and focus.

What does that look like for you?

Is it about asking a question in a meeting?

Or saying yes to that opportunity to give a presentation and actually doing it?

Is it about taking up vocal space in a difficult conversation because you appreciate that your point of view also matters?

Or even becoming aware of your saboteurs and the impact they have on you?

Why?

So that you can show up and speak up with the right energy, a clear intention and as your unapologetic self?
